Literary Connections with Keswick in Cumbria
There
are many famous literary connections around Keswick and west
Cumbria, along with those further afield in the central Lake
District.
The poet William Wordsworth had strong connections with the
area including Wordsworth House in nearby Cockermouth where
he was born - now a National Trust property. Wordsworth is
also famous for his connections with Grasmere in the Central
Lakes.
Other litterary residents in the surrounding Lake District
include Beatrix Potter (featured photograph) who wrote the
Peter Rabbit & Friends series of books, along with John
Ruskin who lived near Coniston at Brantwood.
